This direct-fit windshield weatherstrip seal is designed for 1961–1964 Chevrolet Corvair trucks and provides a reliable, weatherproof barrier between the windshield and body. The seal (without a trim groove) secures the glass, prevents water intrusion, reduces wind noise and vibration, and protects the windshield edge from damage. Manufactured to match original dimensions, it offers durable rubber construction for long service life and straightforward installation for restoration or replacement projects.
Features:
- Fitment: 1961–1964 Chevrolet Corvair Truck (windshield weatherstrip, without trim groove).
- OEM-style profile that matches original windshield channel dimensions for a correct fit.
- Durable rubber compound (EPDM-like) resists UV, ozone and weathering for long-term durability.
- Seals windshield to prevent water leaks, wind noise and vibration, protecting the glass edge.
- No trim groove design for vehicles that use a separate molding, or for vintage restoration accuracy.
- Easy to install with common hand tools; ideal for restoration and maintenance applications.
- Restoration-grade replacement that helps preserve original appearance and function.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 3/5
- Estimated time: 1–2 hours
Instructions:
- Remove the interior garnish moldings and exterior windshield trim/molding to expose the weatherstrip channel.
- Carefully cut and remove the old weatherstrip; take care not to damage the pinch weld or paint.
- Thoroughly clean the windshield channel and pinch weld area, removing old adhesive, dirt and corrosion. Wipe with isopropyl alcohol and allow to dry.
- Test-fit the new weatherstrip along the channel and over the windshield (dry) to confirm orientation and fit. Trim excess if necessary following the profile.
- Lubricate the weatherstrip bead with soapy water or a rubber lubricant to ease installation and prevent tearing.
- Starting at the top center, press the weatherstrip bead into the channel and work outward toward the corners. Use a rubber mallet or block of wood to seat the seal evenly without overstretching.
- Reinstall exterior windshield molding and interior trim. If the windshield was removed, follow glass installer best practices or have a professional set the glass using proper adhesive/sealant.
- Allow any lubricant to dry and any adhesive (if used) to cure per manufacturer guidance before driving (typically allow 24 hours for full seating).
- Inspect for gaps and test for leaks with a water hose; retighten or reseat as needed.
