The Precision Metal Stamped Molding Clip 1102 007 is a heavy-duty stamped metal fastener designed to secure exterior and interior trim and body molding. Engineered as an OEM-style replacement, this clip provides positive retention, resists vibration and helps maintain factory fit and finish during repairs or restoration. Its compact profile and robust construction make it ideal for restoring loose or damaged trim, offering long-term durability and simple push-in installation for quick maintenance or panel replacement.
Features:
- Stamped steel construction for superior strength compared with plastic clips
- Designed to secure exterior and interior molding, trim strips, and panels
- Corrosion-resistant finish helps prevent rust and maintains appearance
- Push-in design for fast, tool-assisted installation and reliable retention
- Ideal for restoration, replacement of worn OEM clips, and vibration reduction
- Compact footprint preserves factory fit and trim alignment
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 10-30 minutes (per panel, depending on access)
Instructions:
- Park on a level surface and wear safety glasses.
- Carefully remove the trim or molding piece using a trim removal tool or flat-blade screwdriver to expose the old clip locations.
- If old or broken clips remain, pry them out with pliers or push them through from the back side; remove debris and clean the mounting flange area with a rag.
- Align the molding or trim with the mounting holes; position the clip so the locating tang and retention lip seat into the hole.
- Press the clip firmly into the hole until you hear or feel it snap into place; for tight locations, use needle-nose pliers to help seat the clip.
- Reinstall the trim by pressing it onto the clips, ensuring each clip engages the mating slot; check alignment and retention.
- If any clip does not hold securely, replace with a new clip and re-check fitment.
