Instructions:
- Park vehicle on level ground, lower the window or remove the door panel if required to access the seal area.
- Carefully pry off and remove the old weatherstrip using a trim removal tool; remove any retained clips or metal backing.
- Clean the door flange, groove and surrounding surfaces thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol to remove dirt, adhesive and oils. Allow to dry.
- Dry-fit the new push-on seal along the door flange to confirm orientation and length. Identify any factory corner or end pieces before final install.
- If the seal is stiff from cold, warm it mildly (sunlight or warm water) to increase flexibility for easier installation.
- Apply a small amount of soapy water or silicone spray to the door flange to act as a lubricant—avoid petroleum-based products that can degrade rubber.
- Starting at the top corner, press the seal onto the flange and work slowly around the perimeter, fully seating the internal retaining bead into the trim groove. Use a rubber mallet or block to tap gently where needed.
- Trim any excess seal with a utility knife or scissors so ends meet cleanly; ensure corners are compressed and seated without gaps.
- Cycle the door open and closed several times and operate the window to verify smooth operation and correct compression without binding.
- Inspect for uniform contact around the door; if leaks or noise persist, adjust seating or re-clean mating surfaces and reseat the seal as needed.
