Two-piece left and right weatherstrip kit for rear door fixed vent glass (part number VWK 1120 73). This kit replaces worn vent glass seals to restore a watertight, rattle-free fit for compatible Volkswagen rear vent glass assemblies. The seals prevent water intrusion, reduce wind noise and vibration, and help maintain interior comfort and finish. Durable construction resists weathering and aging, providing a reliable long-term restoration or maintenance solution with straightforward installation.

Flat-blade screwdriver or trim removal tool
Plastic trim tool
Rag and isopropyl alcohol
Silicone grease or rubber lubricant
Rubber mallet (optional)
Utility knife or scissors

Instructions:

Park vehicle on a level surface and lower/remove the rear door interior trim if necessary to access the vent glass channel.
Carefully remove the old weatherstrip(s) by prying at one end and pulling out along the channel; remove any retaining clips if present.
Thoroughly clean the channel and surrounding area with isopropyl alcohol to remove dirt, adhesive residue, and old lubricant; allow to dry.
Test-fit the new seal(s) on the vent glass and in the channel to confirm orientation (left vs. right).
Apply a light coating of silicone grease or rubber lubricant to the seal bulb and channel to ease installation and prevent twisting.
Starting at one end, press the new weatherstrip into the channel, working along the length and ensuring the seal seats fully in the groove; use a plastic trim tool or rubber mallet to evenly seat the lip if needed.
Trim any excess material flush with the channel ends if necessary using a utility knife or scissors.
Reinstall any retaining clips and the interior trim panel. Close the door and check for uniform contact, leaks, and smooth operation; adjust as required.
