Adjusting sleeve (right and left hand) designed for 1958–1970 Chevrolet and GMC trucks and passenger cars to provide precise toe adjustment and secure connection between inner and outer tie rod ends. This threaded sleeve enables fine alignment changes, restores correct steering geometry after component replacement, and helps eliminate play and uneven tire wear. Built for durability and reliable engagement, the sleeve is an essential replacement part for steering rebuilds and restorations, offering easy installation and long-lasting performance.
Features:
  • Direct fit for 1958–1970 Chevrolet and GMC models (both right and left hand sleeve available).
  • Threaded sleeve for adjusting tie rods—permits precise toe-in/out steering alignment.
  • Durable metal construction with protective finish to resist corrosion and wear.
  • Restoration-grade replacement to return steering geometry to factory specs.
  • Simple installation—works with standard steering components and hardware.
Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 2/5
  • Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Suggested Tools:
  • Jack and jack stands
  • Wheel chocks
  • Lug wrench
  • Tie rod end puller or pickle fork
  • Adjustable wrench or two open-end wrenches
  • Tape measure or alignment tool
  • Penetrating oil
  • Torque wrench
Instructions:
  1. Park vehicle on level ground, set parking brake, and chock rear wheels.
  2. Loosen lug nuts, raise the front of the vehicle with a jack, and support on jack stands. Remove the front wheels.
  3. Locate the tie rod assembly and inspect inner and outer tie rod ends; spray penetrating oil on jam nuts and threads if needed.
  4. Loosen and back off the jam nut on the tie rod end to free the adjusting sleeve.
  5. Separate the outer tie rod end from the steering knuckle using a tie rod puller or pickle fork; take care not to damage the boot if reusing the end.
  6. Unscrew and remove the old adjusting sleeve from the inner/outer tie rod threads. Compare new sleeve to old for correct handedness and thread engagement.
  7. Thread the new sleeve onto the inner tie rod (or inner assembly) to the appropriate length, then attach the outer tie rod end and hand-tighten the jam nut.
  8. Roughly set toe alignment by measuring wheel positions or using an alignment tool to match previous settings.
  9. Tighten jam nuts to the manufacturer-specified torque and reattach cotter pins or locking hardware if applicable.
  10. Reinstall wheels, lower vehicle, torque lug nuts to spec, and perform a professional alignment to finalize toe and steering geometry.
