Inner tie rod end designed for 2011-2019 Buick and Chevrolet vehicles equipped with electric steering (non-variable steer). This inner tie rod connects the steering rack to the outer tie rod, maintaining proper toe alignment and responsive steering. Built from heat-treated steel with corrosion-resistant plating and a precision ball stud and socket, it restores steering feel, reduces play, and helps prevent uneven tire wear. Ideal for repair, restoration, or routine maintenance, the part delivers dependable performance, long service life, and straightforward installation for DIYers and technicians.
Features:
- Fits 2011-2019 Buick and Chevrolet vehicles equipped with electric steering (without variable steer); for inner tie rod end, right or left hand applications.
- Heat-treated steel construction for strength and long-term durability.
- Corrosion-resistant finish protects against rust and environmental wear.
- Precision ball-and-socket design reduces steering play and improves handling response.
- Direct-fit replacement for restoring factory steering geometry and preventing tire wear.
- Includes greaseable or sealed joint options depending on OE spec for easy maintenance or worry-free service.
- Simple swap-in design compatible with standard steering racks to minimize install time.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-90 minutes
Instructions:
- Park vehicle on level ground, engage parking brake and chock rear wheels.
- Loosen front wheel lug nuts slightly, lift vehicle with floor jack and secure on jack stands, then remove the front wheel.
- Locate the inner tie rod on the steering rack and mark the relationship between the inner and outer tie rod to preserve alignment (count turns or mark positions).
- Apply penetrating oil to the tie rod threads and joints if corroded; remove the cotter pin or locking hardware from the outer tie rod as applicable.
- Separate the outer tie rod from the steering knuckle using a tie rod puller or pickle fork, then unscrew and remove the outer tie rod from the inner tie rod (or remove tie rod assembly as required to access inner rod).
- Use an inner tie rod tool or appropriate wrench to loosen and remove the inner tie rod from the steering rack.
- Compare the new inner tie rod to the old one to confirm correct length and orientation, then thread the new inner tie rod into the steering rack to the original position (use marks or turn count).
- Reinstall the outer tie rod onto the new inner tie rod, adjust to match original alignment marks or measurements, and tighten to the manufacturer's torque spec (use torque wrench).
- Reattach cotter pins or locking hardware as required and grease the joint if the part is greaseable.
- Reinstall the wheel, lower the vehicle, torque lug nuts to spec, and perform a steering test at low speed.
- Have a professional wheel alignment performed after installation to ensure proper toe and handling.
