Complete weatherstrip seal kit designed for 1967 models without a weatherstrip trim groove that feature a large rear window and black beltlines. This kit provides an OEM-style seal to prevent water intrusion, reduce wind noise, and protect interior trim and upholstery. Made from durable, weather-resistant rubber with precision profiles for consistent fitment, it’s ideal for restoration projects or replacing degraded original seals to restore proper sealing and appearance.
Features:
- Fits 1967 models without a weatherstrip trim groove with large rear window and black beltlines.
- Made from durable, weather- and UV-resistant EPDM rubber for long life.
- Provides a tight seal to prevent water leaks, wind noise, and road dust intrusion.
- Precision-molded profiles for consistent OEM-style fit and finish.
- Complete kit includes all rear window and beltline seals needed for installation.
- Ideal for restorations or replacing cracked, flattened, or missing seals.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 3/5
- Estimated time: 1–2 hours
Instructions:
- Park vehicle on a level surface and protect surrounding trim and paint with masking tape or drop cloths.
- Carefully remove the old weatherstrip by prying it out with a trim tool or screwdriver; take care not to damage the metal flange or trim.
- Clean the mounting channel thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol or cleaner to remove old adhesive, dirt, and grease; allow to dry completely.
- Test-fit the new weatherstrip pieces to verify orientation and length; trim excess with a utility knife if necessary for a precise fit.
- Apply a thin, even bead of weatherstrip adhesive to the mounting channel or to the rubber (follow adhesive manufacturer instructions).
- Starting at one end, press the new weatherstrip into the channel, working along the length and ensuring the seal seats fully into grooves and corners.
- Use a rubber mallet or soft-faced hammer to gently tap the seal into place where needed; secure ends and corners with masking tape until adhesive cures.
- Allow adhesive to cure per adhesive instructions (typically 30 minutes to several hours), then remove masking tape and reinstall any trim or molding removed during disassembly.
- Inspect the installed seal for gaps and test for leaks by spraying water around the sealed area or performing a road/wind noise check; readjust if necessary.
