Complete weatherstrip seal kit engineered for models with a weatherstrip trim groove, large rear window and chrome beltlines (1967-style applications). This kit restores the rear window seal and surrounding trim interface to prevent water intrusion, reduce wind noise, and protect beltline chrome and body seams from corrosion. Made from durable, long-lasting sealing compound, the kit provides an OEM-style fit for restoration and maintenance projects, improving cabin comfort and preserving vehicle finish while remaining straightforward to install.
Features:
- Fits 1967 models with a weatherstrip trim groove, large rear window and chrome beltlines — verify exact fit for your vehicle before ordering
- Premium weather-resistant rubber compound for long-term sealing and flexibility
- Designed to seal the rear window trim groove and chrome beltline interface to prevent water leaks and reduce wind noise
- Protects body seams and chrome trim from moisture-related corrosion during restoration or replacement
- Complete kit contains all primary seal pieces needed for the large rear window area and associated trim locations
- Easy to trim and position for accurate OEM-style fit during installation
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 1–2 hours
Instructions:
- Park the vehicle on a level surface and work in a dry, dust-free area.
- Remove the old weatherstrip and any retained trim using a plastic trim tool and screwdriver; take care not to gouge the surrounding metal or chrome.
- Clean the sealing surfaces thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol or solvent to remove old adhesive, dirt, and residue; allow to dry completely.
- Test-fit the new weatherstrip pieces to ensure correct orientation and fit; trim excess material as needed for exact alignment.
- If adhesive is required, apply a thin, even bead to the sealing surface per the adhesive manufacturer’s instructions; avoid over-application.
- Press the new weatherstrip into the groove or onto the flange, starting at one side and working around the window to prevent kinks; use masking tape to hold pieces temporarily if needed.
- Ensure the seal seats evenly against chrome beltlines and body seams; use a trim tool or a gloved hand to smooth and fully engage the profile.
- Allow adhesive to cure per product directions (if used), then remove any temporary tape and inspect the seal for gaps.
- Test for leaks by gently spraying water around the sealed area or using a hose at low pressure; address any gaps by re-seating the seal or applying small amounts of adhesive.
