Complete Weatherstrip Seal Kit (CWK 1112 60 PDS) is engineered for vehicles that use a weatherstrip trim groove and non-metal framed door glass. The kit provides durable, OEM-style sealing to prevent water intrusion, reduce wind noise, and stop vibration at the door perimeter. Made from weather-resistant elastomeric material, the seals restore proper fit and finish during full-door restoration or routine replacement. Easy to trim-to-fit and install, this kit delivers long-lasting reliability and helps preserve interior components from moisture and road contaminants.
Features:
- Fits models equipped with a weatherstrip trim groove and non-metal framed door glass.
- Durable EPDM-style elastomer resists UV, ozone, oil and temperature extremes for long service life.
- Designed to prevent water leaks, reduce wind noise and minimize vibration around the door perimeter.
- Trim-to-fit sections and flexible profile simplify installation and ensure a snug, factory-like seal.
- Ideal for restoration and replacement projects to restore fit, finish and weather protection.
- Restores proper door alignment and helps protect interior trim, glass and electronics from moisture damage.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30–90 minutes per door (depending on vehicle and condition)
Instructions:
- Open the door and remove the interior trim panel if needed to expose the weatherstrip groove and mounting area.
- Carefully remove the old weatherstrip and any retained clips or fasteners. Use a trim tool or screwdriver to pry out stubborn sections.
- Clean the groove and surrounding surfaces thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol or adhesive remover. Remove all old adhesive, dirt and corrosion for a proper bond.
- Test-fit the new weatherstrip along the groove and door frame. Mark trimming points and verify orientation with the non-metal framed glass seating area.
- Trim the seal to length with a razor knife as required. Make incremental cuts and re-test fit until the length is correct.
- Apply a thin, even bead of weatherstrip adhesive to the groove or back side of the seal per the adhesive manufacturer’s instructions.
- Seat the weatherstrip into the groove, pressing firmly along the length to ensure full engagement. Work from one end to the other to avoid air gaps.
- Use spring clamps or masking tape to hold the seal in place while the adhesive cures. Follow the adhesive cure time on the product label before closing the door.
- Reinstall any trim panels and test door operation. Check for proper sealing by running a water test or feeling for drafts; adjust or add adhesive where needed.
