Outer right-hand tie rod end for 2008–2013 Chevrolet and Pontiac models designed to replace worn or damaged steering linkage components. This precision-engineered part secures the outer end of the inner tie rod to the steering knuckle, maintaining correct wheel alignment and steering response. Built from hardened steel with corrosion-resistant finishes and sealed grease fittings, it restores steering stability, reduces play and uneven tire wear, and delivers reliable performance for everyday driving and restoration projects. Easy to install and compatible with OE mounting points, it’s an effective maintenance or replacement solution for restoring safe steering operation.
Features:
  • Fits 2008–2013 Chevrolet and Pontiac models (outer right-hand tie rod end).
  • Constructed from hardened steel for strength and long service life.
  • Secures outer tie rod to steering knuckle to maintain alignment and steering precision.
  • Sealed design and corrosion-resistant finish protect internal components.
  • Reduces steering play and uneven tire wear — ideal for repair or restoration.
  • Direct-fit replacement for straightforward installation with common tools.
Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 2/5
  • Estimated time: 45-90 minutes
Suggested Tools:
  • Jack and jack stands or lift
  • Socket and ratchet set
  • Open-end or box wrenches
  • Tie rod puller or pickle fork
  • Torque wrench
  • Pliers
  • Marker or paint pen
  • Tape measure or caliper
  • Grease (if applicable)
Instructions:
  1. Park vehicle on level ground, engage parking brake, and loosen front wheel lug nuts slightly.
  2. Raise the front of the vehicle with a jack and support securely on jack stands. Remove the front wheel.
  3. Locate the outer right-hand tie rod end connecting the steering knuckle to the inner tie rod. Clean the area to see components clearly.
  4. Mark the position of the tie rod end on the threaded portion of the inner tie rod (count turns or measure) to preserve alignment.
  5. Remove the cotter pin (if equipped) and loosen the castellated nut on the tie rod end stud.
  6. Use a tie rod puller or pickle fork to separate the tie rod end stud from the steering knuckle. Do not strike the steering knuckle directly with excessive force.
  7. Loosen the jam nut on the inner tie rod and unthread the old outer tie rod end from the inner tie rod the same number of turns you noted earlier.
  8. Thread the new outer right-hand tie rod end onto the inner tie rod to the marked position. Tighten the jam nut against the tie rod end to secure it.
  9. Insert the tie rod end stud into the steering knuckle, tighten the castellated nut to the manufacturer's torque specification, and install a new cotter pin if required.
  10. Reinstall the wheel, lower the vehicle, and torque the wheel lug nuts to specification.
  11. Have a professional wheel alignment performed after installation to ensure proper tracking and prevent uneven tire wear.
