Front outer tie rod end for 2011–2019 Buick and Chevrolet vehicles. This replacement right/left hand tie rod end connects the steering rack to the steering knuckle, translating steering input into wheel movement while maintaining proper toe alignment. Built for dependable steering response, it restores precise handling and reduces play or wandering caused by worn steering components. Durable construction and a corrosion-resistant finish provide long life and reliable performance under daily driving conditions. Ideal for suspension or steering system repairs and vehicle restorations.
Features:
- Fits 2011–2019 Buick and Chevrolet models (front outer tie rod end, right or left hand) — verify fitment for your specific year and model.
- Precision ball-stud design for accurate steering response and reduced play.
- Durable, corrosion-resistant materials for long service life in varied road conditions.
- Seals and grease fitting (where applicable) to reduce wear and extend component life.
- Direct replacement for worn or damaged outer tie rod ends — restores alignment and handling.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-60 minutes per side
Instructions:
- Park on a level surface, engage parking brake, and loosen the lug nuts on the front wheel before lifting.
- Lift the vehicle with a jack and support securely on jack stands. Remove the wheel to access the tie rod end.
- Locate the outer tie rod end at the steering knuckle. Remove the cotter pin and loosen the castle nut (if equipped) or the retaining nut.
- Use a tie rod puller or pickle fork to separate the tie rod end from the steering knuckle. Avoid striking the steering knuckle directly if possible to prevent damage.
- Loosen the lock nut on the inner tie rod and count or mark the number of turns required to remove the old tie rod end. This helps preserve alignment when installing the new part.
- Unscrew the old outer tie rod end from the inner tie rod and remove it.
- Thread the new outer tie rod end onto the inner tie rod to the previously noted position (or match the original length). Hand-tighten the lock nut and position the ball stud in the steering knuckle.
- Install and tighten the retaining nut to the vehicle manufacturer’s specified torque and install a new cotter pin if applicable.
- Tighten the lock nut against the tie rod end to secure the adjustment.
- Reinstall the wheel, lower the vehicle, and torque the wheel lug nuts to specification.
- Have a professional wheel alignment performed after installation to ensure proper toe settings and even tire wear.
